After School Dance Programs in Lanham, Adelphi & Surrounding Areas
Dance Makers, Inc.’s before and after school program, One Step Forward (OSF), is on a mission to provide at-risk youth with a safe, stimulating, and nurturing place to grow academically, emotionally, and creatively. Our primary focus is to keep our youth off the streets while instilling integrity and diversity. The purpose of the program is to develop our youth in performing arts as well as education. OSF provides supervised homework completion, an afternoon snack, afternoon supper, and one hour of creative dance movement.
Participating Schools in the Maryland Area
One Step Forward is currently serving Ardmore, C.T. Reed, Glenn Dale, High Bridge, James McHenry, Kingsford, Lamont, Robert Goddard, Seabrook, Woodmore, Thomas Pullen Elementary Schools, Thomas Johnson Middle School, and Turning Point Academy. Spaces will be limited to 15 students per school. *Additional schools may be added upon request.
The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30am-9:00am and 2:00pm-6:30pm. All students must be picked up by 6:30 pm each day.
One Step Forward’s “Kidz Day Out” Event in Maryland
During Prince George’s County Schools non-federal holiday closures, One Step Forward sponsors “Kidz Day Out” activities. Students partake in enriching and fun-filled field trips. Please note there are additional fees for “Kidz Day Out” activities.
Registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. The maximum capacity for “Kidz Day Out” is 30 students.
“Kidz Day Out” is for children ages 5-14. The hours of operation are 6:30 am-6:00 pm.
One Step Forward Summer Camp in Lanham, MD
One Step Forward Summer Camp primarily focuses on enhancing the performer’s creativity and skill, which may include creating active stage presence with dance technique training in ballet, tap, jazz, or hip-hop. The summer is sure to be filled with action and thrills with our weekly fun-filled field trips.
One Step Forward Summer Camp hours are 9:00 am-3:30 pm. Before-care hours are 6:30am-9:00am and after-care hours are 3:30pm-6:00pm. One Step Forward Summer Camp is designed for students ages 5-13.
As you learn all about our camp, picture your child smiling, laughing, and growing as they participate in One Step Forward’s Camp Summer Camp. We can see it clearly already. We see it every summer, as countless children in the Washington metropolitan region experience all that One Step Forward’s Summer Camp offers.
